Blog for the IAS

On Saturday, 22nd of January 2011, the meeting of the IAS association was held in Delhi. Amongst many issues discussed and deliberated, it was decided to start a blog for the IAS...where ideas and thoughts will be shared and will provide a forum for IAS officers to express themselves on all meaningful and topical issues. This endeavour is towards that objective and it is hoped that over a period of time this blog can serve as a sounding board of ideas and suggestions.
Of course, to make that happen, this blog will require contributors and thoughts on how to shape this up. We can make this open or moderated. It will depend on number of posts, interest it generates and the extent of activity it sees from members. Primarily it will be driven by contributions from members of the service including those who have retired. Given the number of colleagues who are active in the blogosphere, I am sure we will see quite a bit of activity. The endeavour will also be to give links to individual blogs of officers or batch blogs wherever existing. The blogs can also touch areas of health, finances and personnel matters apart from Governance, Ethics and common service matters. There can be blogs for Best Practices with a caveat that authors may refrain from self promotion. One will also expect service colleagues to comment on blogs posted to help refine the ideas.
I would also urge to please promote this blog amongst your batchmates and cadremates to have more participation.
Welcome to this blog and happy blogging!!!
